And while they're not doing well in CS2 esports, Team Falcons have been dominating Dota 2 esports since they burst onto the scene at the end of last year. They won their second consecutive major tournament without losing a match, defeating BetBoom 3-0 in the grand final of the 22nd season of the DreamLeague competition.
A month after lifting the trophy at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 tournament, Team Falcons once again claim the top prize and confirm that they are currently without competition in Dota 2 esports.
After a rather strange first group stage in which they achieved as many as five draws in seven matches, with two wins, the Falcons overcame the competition in the second group stage where they achieved maximum performance in seven rounds and with a 7-0 score took a convincing first place before the playoffs the ending.
In the playoffs, they played two matches against the BetBoom team, and in the final of the winner's barrage they won 2-1, before the rematch in the grand final followed. BetBoom previously beat Xtreme Gaming 2-0, who defeated reigning TI champions Team Spirit 2-1 in the first round of the lower bracket.
The Falcons took a 3-0 victory in the final in just under three hours of play. BetBoom put up a really great resistance, especially in the second and third games, but in the end they couldn't even get a single consolation victory.
Team Falcons received $300,000 for first place, which means that within a month they earned a total of $700,000 from the prize funds of the two tournaments.
