Crvena Zvezda won the EBL with a big upset against Partizan

Crvena Zvezda has won its third title of LoL Balkan champion, by winning the first historic derby in the finals of this competition.

Two and a half years have passed since the red and whites lifted the EBL trophy last time, and they achieved the hat-trick in a way that will be talked about for a long time.

Not only did they beat the excellent Partizan in the final, which was their biggest rival throughout the season, but they managed to do it even though they were losing 0-2 at the start of the match.

Partizan and Zvezda demonstrated absolute dominance during the group stage of the championship, finishing it with a total score of 12-2, that is, even four more victories than the closest companions.

This meant that the eternal derby was waiting for us at the start of the playoffs, when Zvezda and Partizan met in the fight for direct placement in the grand final. It is a fascinating fact that even then Zvezda was losing 0-2, but in the end they triumphed 3-2, i.e. we saw the same outcome as in the title match.

Led by veterans and former teammates, the black and white team is led by Aljoša "Milica" Kovandžić, the only Serb who played in the elite European LoL league, while the red and white team featured Nikola "Nikola" Đorđević, the former ADC of the famous Kliktech.

Bulgarian Aleksandar "Avarice" Dimitrov, who was declared MVP of the league, also joined the ranks of Zvezda. And the award for coach of the season went to Bernardo "BerNNas" Carvalho, a Portuguese expert who has been coaching the red and whites since this season.

Partizan opened the final fiercely with two quick victories in games that lasted about half an hour. In the first, the result in kills was 19-4, and in the second 14-6. Partizan seemed to be on the threshold of great success, but Zvezda once again showed impressive determination to fight for the title until the very end.

Although Partizan led in resources in the third game, Zvezda managed to make two kills in the defense of the base, switch to a counterattack and reduce the deficit to 1-2. Partizan led in the fourth game, but again Zvezda played better in the continuation and managed to get the second victory, even though they finished the fourth game with fewer kills than their rivals.

In the decisive fifth game, we saw a much slower game, and the first kills fell only in the 28th minute of the game, which would not be surprising if it was a season record. It was then that Zvezda took Baron, which they knew how to use and press the completely helpless Partizan, who then put all their cards on Drake, who they kill, but in the process lose four players, and Red Zvezda easily reaches the opponent's base and puts an end to the nexus by destroying it. the final.
