IEM Dallas will use the latest CS2 update

ESL confirmed today that IEM Dallas 2024 will be played on the latest version of CS2, which was released yesterday, and the main reason for the decision is that one of the most common bugs has been fixed within it.

Valve released a big update yesterday, which we wrote about in more detail in this article, and which it is clear at the start that it will have a big impact on CS2 esports. At that moment, we had no idea that we would have the opportunity to watch it so soon at one of the so-called Tier 1 events, but ESL made a decision that the changes will not wait and will be active next week in Dallas.

The most important thing in the new update is that there should no longer be sudden shutdowns of the game, which happened to players on several occasions during major competitions and even at the Major itself, and the players themselves have repeatedly expressed their dissatisfaction publicly and asked Valve to do something. These are primarily bugs related to NVIDIA drivers.

This means that the teams will only have time during the weekend to prepare for the tournament that starts on Monday, as well as that we will have the opportunity to watch the debut of the new update live on Arena Esport TV.

As a reminder, not only will we see a modified Vertigo at the tournament, but we will also see Dust 2, which recently returned to the rotation of competitive maps.
