Monte and Aurora Gaming advanced to the semifinals of the Roobet Cup after winning their quarterfinal matches against Movistar Riders and BIG.
In the first quarter-final match, BIG and Aurora fought a fierce battle until the very end, in which Aurora managed to avoid going into overtime twice in a row.
In a match that was full of uncharacteristic mistakes on both sides, Aurora managed to be a more specific team when it was most needed and won. The duel started on the Ancient map chosen by BIG, but Aurora was the better team at the start and they take a 9-3 lead at halftime. BIG was able to recover in the second half and come close to turning it around, but Aurora went into overtime for a 16-14 victory.
Again, Aurora was the better rival at the start of the map when it was Nuke's turn, but they let go of a 5-0 advantage in the continuation and at halftime both teams left with six rounds each. He led BIG 10-7 the rest of the way and just when it seemed like we were close to the third map Aurora managed to win two crucial rounds with a significantly lower economy than their opponents which gave them the necessary tailwind for a complete turnaround and a 13-0 triumph.
Syzmon "kRaSnaL" Mrozek and Alexander "br0" Bro led Monte to victory against Spain's Movistar Riders with 39 and 36 frags, respectively. Monte led Anubis 8-4 on the CT side and they did not let go of the advantage in the continuation, which resulted in a 13-10 victory. Then came the Overpass map, where they played an almost perfect CT side in which they lost only one round, then they took both rounds and ended the match with a score of 13-1.
Today, from 15:00, FURIA and Apex will meet, while from 18:00 we will see Virtus.pro and OG in the last quarter-final.
