Virtus.pro wins Roobet Cup 2023

Virtus.pro managed to defeat Monte 2-1 in the finals of this year's Roobet Cup and get their first title in CS2 esports.

The Russian team played excellently throughout the tournament and in the end deservedly won. In the group stage, they outplayed very unpleasant rivals Team Spirit and Movistar Riders, and in the playoffs, OG, FURIA and finally Monte fell in front of them.

The final itself was very exciting on the first two maps, but on the decisive third, Virtus.pro achieved an unexpectedly convincing victory.

The final was opened by Overpass, who was the pick of the Russian team. VP managed to take a very solid seven rounds on the T side, but Monte also played well down the stretch which saw us watch another 11 rounds before VP triumphed 13-10.

On Anubis, the teams were equal in the first part of the game, and thanks to a good T side, Monte managed to respond and level the score at 1-1 with an identical score from the first map.

Virtus.pro seemed to kick into fifth gear when it was Mirage's turn. They took advantage of the CT side to take an 8-4 lead, and went on to take all five rounds for a convincing 13-4, ending the tournament in style.

Roobet Cup 2023 brought us a lot of quality matches in the later stages of the tournament, while at the very start we saw a weaker game of some teams who are obviously still getting used to CS2 in general, and the changes in the lineups that many teams are going through. Virtus.pro and Monte obviously showed the most, and they are already continuing their fight through other tournaments where they will have the opportunity to further improve their form and continue to advance in the rankings.
