G2 SAYS GOODBYE TO HOOXI

G2 Esports has just announced that current team captain Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen will no longer play for their CS2 team.

After almost two years at the helm of one of the best teams on the planet, HooXi said goodbye to the G2 team. Denmark's IGL was with the team in their brightest moments, when they ascended to the top of the throne at IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne, but despite everything he brought to the team, HooXi was constantly under scrutiny and questioned due to his often very poor individual play , even for player a IGL position.

And while another organization might be satisfied with a near-constant top 5 ranking in the world and a string of playoff finishes in major CS2 tournaments, G2 is always only interested in winning, which is why changes at the end of the day were necessary to increase their chances of being number one.

When you have in your ranks perhaps the current best player of the lane, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, and CS esports legend Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, changes must come in the so-called support positions, which is why HooXi and Nemanja "Nexa" Isaković were removed from the team before the continuation season.

Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa officially arrived in G2 yesterday, and for now there is no indication of who could be the fifth player, it is a secret well hidden as well as the benching of Hooxi that we did not know about until today, although there were many hints that something is brewing.

HooXi will be remembered as someone who garnered a lot of fanfare and criticism at the same time, and while some mourn his departure, others look to the potentially bright future that awaits G2 should the dice roll.
