IEM Sydney Group A: FaZe in playoffs, MOUZ straight into semis

After a fierce battle, MOUSE managed to overcome the most pleasant surprise of the BetBoom tournament and take the first place in the A group, while FaZe managed to turn Nuke around and get a precious victory against GamerLegion that takes them to the playoffs.

The unfolding of Group A in Sydney brought us two exciting matches in which the favorites managed to win, but not without a lot of struggle. GamerLegion showed that they didn't beat FaZe by accident at the start of the tournament when they took a 19-15 double overtime victory on Nuke, but this time FaZe was ready and it was this map that ultimately decided the winner.

On the Ancient map, we were close with two 6-6 halves, but FaZe managed to reach the 13th round in the last round of the regular part of the map and take a 1-0 lead. The match continued on Inferno, where GamerLegion completely neutralized FaZe with a beautiful CT side and took a 10-2 lead, before going on to celebrate 13-7.

GamerLegion opened with an excellent Nuke, but FaZe managed to recover at the last moment in the first half and even took a 7-5 lead by the end. They continued to play well on the T side and took six out of seven runs for a 13-6 victory. Helvijs "broky" Saukants had an excellent match with a 61-35 score and a 1.50 rating, and Havard "rain" Nygaard was also solid, and after the match he said that he is looking forward to changes in CS2 and that he thinks that he will only get better with time and better.

Adam "torssy" Torzas once again led MOUSE to a big win and showed that even with a change they can go far in Sydney. Although they lost to BetBoom, there is no reason for them not to be satisfied with their performance in the tournament so far, because even though it is a recently formed team that has no LAN experience when it comes to playing together, they showed an extremely high quality of play and a very solid initial synergy of teammates.

MOUSE had to battle through two overtimes to defeat the Mirage 19-15. After that, it may have looked like Ancient would easily close out the match on their peak map, but BetBoom managed to take an 8-4 lead on the CT side and hold on to a 13-7 victory.

Both teams played good T sides on the Overpass map, MOUZ took a 7-5 lead but BetBoom didn't allow them to break away and make a bigger lead. However, in the key rounds at the very end of the match, MOUZ players were more precise and deservedly won 13-10.

After Complexity and Monte defeated Cloud9 and Fnatic in Group B, there are only two matches left until the end of the group stage. Their duel for the last playoff slot and the big derby ENCE - G2 when we will know who will start the playoff from the semifinals with MOUZ.
