The current IGL of Movistar Riders, Alejandro "ALEX" Massanet, will take over the position of captain in Ninjas in Pajamas, HLTV has learned.
The HLTV report states that the deal has been finalized and all that remains is for the contract to be signed. Alex will not be able to lead the ninjas at the CS Asian Championship, but he will play for the team already during the BLAST Fall Finals. He was originally supposed to stay with Movistar Riders until the end of the year, i.e. the expiration of his contract, but MRS and NiP managed to reach an agreement on an earlier transfer.
As a reminder, NiP are without a leader after they removed Hampus "hampus" Poser from the first team last month. After that, several names were associated with the organization, but everything remained just a rumor.
Alex, who spent the previous six years playing for Movistar Riders, will lead a team in English for the first time, which is why it will probably take some time for him and the rest of the team to get used to it. NiP fans don't have much patience after a series of failures in major tournaments, which according to many is mostly due to the problem of forming a stable squad that would spend more than three months playing together.
Bjorn "THREAT" Pers took over the role of general manager at the end of September and is now making a lot of moves that should help the team, and in addition to changing the captain, he returned Patrick "es3tag" Hansen to the first team, while Ludwig "Brollan" Brolin was removed from the team .
