SK Gaming brings a Korean bot lane

After an unsuccessful spring season, SK Gaming enters the summer split with major changes in the team.

According to information obtained by the Sheep Esports portal, SK Gaming is bringing two players from South Korea to its LEC team. They are ADC Cho "Rahel" Minseong who plays for DK Challengers and Lee "HH" Hyunho, a player from NS Esports Academy.

SK Gaming kept the bot lane from last year, but after two seasons this year they decided to try something new. SK opened 2024 strongly, they took third place in the group stage of the winter championship, only to finish in fifth place in the playoffs. The spring split went much worse as a result, they reached the playoffs only after a tiebreaker for eighth place where they beat Rogue, and in the playoffs they lost both matches they played, against Vitality and Team Heretics.

According to sources, Thomas "Exakick" Foucou and Mads "Doss" Schwartz only recently learned that they will be replaced, which is why they find themselves in the very unenviable situation of looking for a new environment when most LEC teams are heavily staffed. They will have the opportunity to decide to play for the SK Academy, but for now there is still no indication if they will accept it.

SK, which already has experience in bringing in Korean talents, this time selected players from high-ranking teams, Rahel took second place with DK in the Challenger League, while HH finished the season in third place.
